Ford Racing

Like many major automakers, Ford has participated in various racing competitions over the years. It has also manufactured cars which are designed for this purpose. Ford produces vehicles for the Busch Series, Nextel Cup, and NASCAR. One popular Ford racing team is Robert Yates Racing. While the Ford Taurus has been used for racing in the past, it was replaced in 2006 by the Fusion model. The Daytona 500 was the first competition in which the Fusion competed.

The Ford engines were responsible for wins in a number of races between the 1960s and the early 2000s. The Ford Focus model has been raced heavily in rallying competitions, and it has had a lot of success. The Ford Mustang has been used in a number of drifting competitions.

Ford has also produce a number of powerful sports cars that have competed in numerous races. One of the most popular is the GT40. It is this vehicle that emerged victorious in the 24 Hours of Le Mans numerous during the 1960s. This is the only American vehicle that has ever won the complete competition at this race.
